H’K-Not

H’K-Not is a socially relevant product of Newtomech. The device provides a solution to prevent hanging using ceiling fan by failing the attempt. When a person attempts hanging, the function of the device leads to disconnection and dropping the person to the floor without any injuries.

Drop mass setup

A low velocity impact test is performed by lifting a mass to a specified height and then releasing the weight to accelerate to reach maximum velocity according to Newton’s law before impact on target material. The Contact force –Time, Deformation-Time and Acceleration –Time responses are obtained using sophisticated dynamic sensors to understand dynamic behaviour of the materials/structures such as steel, concrete, composites and sandwich structures.

Gas gun

An impact test is performed by accelerating a projectile to a specified velocity, typically with the use of a gas gun, into a target test panel that is supported in a fixture. The penetration velocity is predicted to understand ballistic performance of the target plate. The Acceleration –Time response is obtained using piezo type accelerometer to understand dynamic response of the materials/structures such as steel, concrete, composites and sandwich structures.

Hopkinson Bar test

The material/structures as subjected to high speed elongation and compression during crash/impact with other materials/structures. Hopkinson bar captures stress-strain response of test materials at rate of loading by impact.
